Winnipeg man arrested for possessing child sexual abuse images for the second time in three months

A 31-year-old Winnipeg man has been re-arrested by police for possessing and accessing child sexual abuse images, and breaching conditions of his release order.

On July 2nd,  Winnipeg Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on the Canadian Armed Forces Base on Wihuri Road where the man was taken into custody and multiple electronic devices were seized.

 The man was charged with accessing child pornography, possession of child pornography and 7 counts of failing to comply with release order.  He was detained.

According to police, this is the second time the man faces these charges. Less than three months prior, on April 16th, he was arrested after a search at his residence, but was released with conditions prohibiting access to the internet and anyone under 18, as directed by the Criminal Code.
