Winnipeg woman facing charges after gas station employee bear-sprayed during alleged robbery

Winnipeg police say a woman is facing charges after she allegedly bear-sprayed a store employee while allegedly trying to rob the store.

WPS says the alleged incident happened just before midnight on Wednesday at a gas station along Salter Street.

Police say the employee was able to provide a description of the suspect despite suffering from the effects of the bear spray.

Officers say they found the suspect around 2:20 a.m. near Selkirk Avenue and McGregor Street.

The 27-year-old woman is facing robbery charges, and she remains in custody.
