Winnipeg police arrest additional suspect in murder of Shelby Hayward

Winnipeg police say they have arrested and charged another suspect in connection with the death of 30-year-old Shelby Dawn Hayward in 2023.
Hayward was reported missing in November 2023 after last being seen near Polo Park Mall. Initial work by the missing persons unit transitioned to the homicide unit last year after police say evidence suggested Hayward was dead.
Investigators had already charged three suspects with first-degree murder, and they’ve now charged a fourth. Katrina Musawagon, 32, was arrested Tuesday at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
On Sept. 25, 2024, Tamara Gayle Moneyas, 24, was arrested at a home on Toronto Street.
On Oct. 2, 2024, Vincent Charles Fontaine, 39, was apprehended at the Headingley Correctional Institution.
On Oct. 31, 2024, officers arrested Taylor Lena Ray Moose, 25.
All three were charged with first-degree murder.
A fifth suspect died during the police investigation.
