Winnipeg police trying to identify suspect accused of indecent acts in public

Winnipeg police are turning to the public for help in identifying a suspect they allege committed indecent acts against two women in public in separate incidents earlier this year.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it received the two reports between March and April.

The suspect was initially described by police as a man in his 20s, with slight facial hair and collar length dark hair. Police shared photos of the possible suspect.

Winnipeg police later said they learned the individual may be a youth. “The Youth Criminal Justice Act prohibits publication of information which may identify a young person unless a court order has been obtained,” prompting a removal of the suspect’s photos.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sex crimes unit at 204-986-6245 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS.
