Winnipeg man charged after allegedly assaulting 2 security guards near Central Park

Winnipeg police says a 38-year-old man has been charged in connection to a pair of assaults earlier this week.
WPS says around 8:35 a.m. on May 21, officers responded to a report that a security guard had been assaulted near Carlton Street and Ellice Avenue.
Reports indicate that the security guard was patrolling the area when he was allegedly attacked by an unknown man, suffering minor injuries.
Around half an hour later, a second security was patrolling the area, when he was attacked by an unknown man, and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Around the same time, members of the WPS Auxiliary Fore Cadet Unit were also patrolling the area and noticed the incident, and were able to take a man into custody using citizens’ powers of arrest.
Since, 38-year-old Jonathan Kevin Masse has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault.
