Winnipeg police say a body was found at a recycling depot in the St. Boniface Industrial Park Thursday morning.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the deceased is believed to be a man, pending identification.
Authorities say the investigation is “just getting underway.”
CityNews spoke with locals to see their reactions.
“Shocking, and its scary, scary that its hitting right close to our neighbourhood,” said one local.
“Its scary, I mean we feel in the community here that we have a very safe neighbourhood,” said another. “I mean we have kids running around, freely, id hate to be worrying about children every day.”
“Shocking, obviously its incredibly shocking,” said another. “We have to keep a really good eye on our neighbourhoods period, and the way its going in society nowadays it seems a little bit harder to do that and be trustworthy of neighbours. Its horrifically shocking that a body was found.”
