Extended hours clinic to open at Winnipeg’s Victoria General Hospital

A health clinic at the Victoria General Hospital will be running extended hours, according to the Government of Manitoba.
Tuesday, the province announced that the clinic will open during evenings and weekends, a move that comes as the province looks to increase access to primary care.
“This is the third extended hours clinic we’ve opened in Winnipeg, because we know everyone deserves to access primary care, often outside of regular hours,” said Asagwara. “These later hours will mean you can get care even when you can’t step away from work or school during the day. For folks who may not have a primary care physician, this clinic can be a place to go for checkups, prescriptions and all of your routine health-care services.”
The clinic will officially open on Thursday, May 15. On weekdays, it will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and on weekends and holidays, it will be open from 1:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Patients can book same-day appointments at the clinic online, and the province notes that walk-in services will also be available on a limited basis.
