1 person in hospital following house fire in Winnipeg

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services says one person is in hospital following a house fire Thursday evening.

Fire crews responded to a report of a house fire around 5:12 p.m. near Strathcona Street and St Matthews Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke coming from the home, and began to fight the fire.

The fire was declared under control around 6:08 p.m.

One person was taken to hospital in stable condition by paramedics.

At this time, the cause of the fire in under investigation.
