Two back-to-back fires in Winnipeg

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two separate fires early Monday morning, just minutes apart.

At 3:05 a.m., crews were called to a two-storey, multi-family residence in the 300 block of Boyd Avenue.

Flames and smoke were visible on arrival, and firefighters quickly launched an attack, bringing the blaze under control by 3:37 a.m.

All residents had safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

Emergency Social Services were on scene to assist displaced occupants.

Just one minute later, at 3:06 a.m., WFPS responded to a fire in a two-storey commercial building in the 600 block of Broadway.

The structure was unoccupied at the time, and the fire was declared extinguished by 3:58 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Both fires remain under investigation, and no damage estimates are currently available.
