Woman facing charges after allegedly stealing $95k from store: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police say a 47-year-old woman is facing charges in connection with a fraud investigation lasting over a year.
WPS says in April 2024, they were contacted by a business along Powell Avenue, claiming a fraud had occurred.
Through an investigation, police learned that between May 2023 and April 2024 an employee used their position at the store to help themselves and allegedly steal around $95,000 through forged invoices and receipts.
During the investigation, a woman was identified and on Apr. 23, 2025, she turned herself in to police.
Police say the 47-year-old woman is facing a charge of fraud over $5,000 and use of a forged document. She has since been released.
