Winnipeg police say a stabbing that hospitalized a woman led to two people wanted on warrants being taken into custody.
WPS says around 3:30 a.m. on Apr. 6, officers responded to a report of a fight at a home near Alexander Avenue and Gunnell Street.
When officers arrived at the home, they found a 25-year-old woman suffering from multiple stabbing injuries.
Officers say they provided medical care before paramedics arrived and took the woman to a hospital in unstable condition. She was later upgraded to stable.
Police note that any suspects at the scene fled before the officers arrived.
However, WPS say a 42-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were “arrested on the strength of warrants, however, no arrests were made in relation to the stabbing incident.”
Anyone who might have any information regarding the incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
