Manitoba Premier Kinew sees slight drop in approval: Angus Reid

According to a new survey from the Angus Reid Institute, Manitoba’s Premier Wab Kinew has seen a slight drop in approval rating to start the year.
Premier Kinew lost two per cent in his approval rating, which was at its peak of 67 per cent in December.
Kinew is now Canada’s second most popular premier, following only Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Andrew Furey.
The quarterly approval ratings come after premiers have been dealing with a trade war with the United States.
Manitoba signed its own executive order early this month putting restrictions on U.S. alcohol and some additional goods, which will remain in place until the tariff threat ends.
The province recently announced its latest budget plans.
