Winnipeg man arrested with $23,000 worth of illegal drugs

On Saturday, Winnipeg police with the help from the central district and tactical support team arrested an adult male outside a hotel in the west end of the city.

The suspect had a loaded handgun and approximately $23,000 worth of illegal drugs.

The WPS was conducting a firearm and drug trafficking investigation when they took the man into custody, officer seized a loaded .22 calibre handgun, almost 300 grams of fentanyl, over 100 grams of cocaine and nearly the same amount of methamphetamine.

He also had over $1700 dollars in cash.

As a result, Buchannan Anthony Eyolfson, a 40-year-old man from Winnipeg, is facing 16 drug trafficking and firearm related charges. 

He was detained and remains in custody.
