Winnipeg Firefighters battle two fires on Aberdeen Avenue and Roslyn Road

At 9:14 a.m., Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) teams arrived at a house fire on Aberdeen Avenue and managed to extinguish the flames in approximately 20 minutes.

After conducting a search, no one was found inside and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Shortly after, at 10:10 a.m., WFPS crews were dispatched to a fire in an apartment building on Roslyn Road.

They quickly took control of the situation, and the fire was fully contained within an hour. There were no injuries reported.

Firefighters say the fire was likely accidental and believed to have been caused by an improperly discarded cigarette butt.
