The City of Winnipeg wants to know what residents value most about the city’s greenspaces and natural areas.
Winnipeggers are being asked to complete an online survey available until April 15.
The feedback will be considered as part of the city’s greenspace plan and biodiversity policy, which is being developed to help “manage, protect, and restore natural areas while increasing biodiversity within the city.”
The city is defining greenspaces as “areas within Winnipeg with grass, trees, and other planted or natural vegetation.”
Some examples include riverbanks, parks, golf courses, cemeteries, forests, yards, retention ponds, trails, school yards, boulevards, meadows, or wetlands.
The greenspace plan and biodiversity policy are expected to be completed by the end of next year.
