Winnipeg police say a 58-year-old man has been charged after being found in a stolen vehicle on Saturday.
WPS says on Mar. 8, patrol officers noticed a man sitting in a parked Chevrolet Silverado along Linden Avenue.
A quick investigation found that the Silverado had been reported stolen near Tecumseh Street and William Avenue on Mar. 3.
During this time, the man reportedly noticed the officers and tried to flee on foot, but was taken into custody a short time later.
After the man was in custody, officers noticed that he was not wearing his ankle monitor, violating the conditions of his release order.
The 58-year-old has since been charged with possession of property obtained by a crime over $5,000, mischief under $5,000, four counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and three warrants for failing to comply with conditions of a release order.
