Teen charged in connection to Long Plain First Nation homicide

Manitoba RCMP say a 14-year-old has been charged in connection to a homicide in Long Plain First Nation.
Around 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 24, Mounties responded to a report of a stabbing.
A vehicle reportedly pulled up the the Long Plain Detachment of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service, and a 26-year-old man who was inside the vehicle needed medical assistance.
Officers provided emergency medical care until paramedics arrived and took the man to hospital where he later died.
Through an investigation, police found that the vehicle had stopped at a home in Long Plain First Nation to drop off another passenger, when a 14-year-old boy exited the home and confronted the 26-year-old who remained seated in the vehicle.
It is then believed that the teen entered the vehicle and stabbed the man.
From there, the vehicle fled the scene and drove to the police station.
On Feb. 24, a 14-year-old was taken into custody by the MFNPS. He was later charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody.
