By CityNews Staff

Winnipeg police are issuing a warning to the public regarding a new form of fentanyl that has appeared in the city.

WPS says the new form of the drug “has been pressed and packaged into unique shapes that look similar to cut-out cookies, colourful candles, soaps or confections.”

Officers are investigating the matter and stress it is important not to touch similar items if you come across them, and report it to police.

WPS also stresses in an effort to reduce the risk of an opioid overdose, never use drugs alone and always carry naloxone.
