By CityNews Staff

Just after 3 a.m. on Sunday, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire at a two-story house in the 200 block of Roger Street.

Upon arrival, WFPS says the crews found smoke coming from the house. They entered and fought the fire from the inside, declaring it under control by 3:37 a.m.

CityNews was let into the house, which suffered extensive damage on the second floor, though damage estimates are not available.

WFPS also says all occupants of the house safely evacuated and there were no injuries reported.

The suspected cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction.
