Winnipeg police says two people have been charged after being found to be in possession of weapons at an apartment complex Friday evening.

WPS says around 6 p.m. while officers were investigating an unrelated matter, they noticed a boarded-up suite of an apartment complex had been breached.

Officers entered the suite and found a man and a woman inside, and took both into custody.

While in custody, police conducted a search of their belongings, and found an unloaded Powerline Daisy 426 Air pistol with a CO2 cartridge, a zip-gun that was in two pieces, and two .22 calibre rounds.

As a result, a 28-year-old man is facing nine charges including possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, failing to comply with a probation order, and unlawfully being in a dwelling.

A 29-year-old woman is also facing a charge of unlawfully being in a dwelling.
