Winnipeg police say a 13-year-old has been charged following a break-and-enter at a store in December 2024.
WPS says around 10 p.m. on Dec. 23, 2024, officers responded to a store along Elizabeth Road near Wickham Road after receiving a report of a break-in.
Officers attended the scene and began an investigation.
Through their investigation, police learned that a teen went to the store, and allegedly broke a window with a baseball bat. The damage cost around $4,000.
It is then believed that the teen took $500 worth of merchandise before fleeing.
WPS says on Feb. 4, officers took a 13-year-old into custody at the Police Headquarters. He has since been charged with break-enter and theft.
