Man robbed, stabbed after being dragged into West End apartment complex: WPS

Winnipeg police say a 36-year man was dragged inside a West End apartment complex by three suspects before being robbed, assaulted and stabbed on Monday evening.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the man was walking down Simcoe Street around 7 p.m. when he was approached by two women asking for a cigarette.
Authorities say he was in the process of giving them a cigarette when three men allegedly ran out of an apartment complex and dragged him inside.
After allegedly being robbed, physically assaulted and stabbed in the upper body, the victim was able to flee and contact police.
Officers arrived and provided emergency medical care. The man was taken to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.
The WPS major crimes unit is investigating.
