No injuries reported following Banning Street fire

A fire at a three-storey apartment building brought fire crews to the 700 block of Banning Street on Friday morning. 

According to a news release, reports of the fire started to come in at around 11:11 a.m. and when crews arrived on scene they found smoke and fire coming from the vacant building.

Firefighters got the blaze under control with an interior attack at roughly 11:34 a.m.

A search of the building found there were no occupants inside and no other injuries were reported. 

A damage estimate was not available and the fire remains under investigation. 

Officials say if the public observes someone actively entering a vacant building or removing boards from windows or doors, they should call 911 to report it immediately.
