Winnipeg police say a 29-year-old man has been charged after a dispute led to an alleged stabbing in the Crescentwood area Friday night.
WPS says officers responded to reports of a stabbing on Corydon Avenue near Harrow Street around 11:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a 37-year-old man suffering from serious upper-body injuries consistent with a stabbing.
The officers provided medical care until paramedics arrived at the scene, and were able to take the man to hospital in critical condition. He was later upgraded to stable.
Through an investigation, police learned that two men known to each other got into a verbal dispute over living arrangements. It escalated, leading to one of the men arming himself and stabbing the other.
WPS took a 29-year-old man into custody, and he has since been charged with possession of a weapon and aggravated assault.
