Winnipeg firefighters respond to two fires on David and Burnell Streets
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires, on Saturday.
Both incidents were believed to be accidental.
David Street Fire
At 8:30 p.m., WFPS crews were called to the 600 block of David Street, where a vehicle fire had spread to a nearby house and garage.

The fire, believed to have been caused by a plugged-in block heater, was fully contained by 10:04 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Residents are reminded to inspect block heaters and extension cords for signs of wear to prevent similar incidents.
Burnell Street Fire
Shortly after, at 9:23 p.m., WFPS responded to a fire at a two-storey home on the 500 block of Burnell Street.
Crews found smoke coming from the building and quickly contained the fire by 9:37 p.m.

All residents had safely evacuated before firefighters arrived.
Preliminary reports suggest an electrical malfunction as the cause.
No injuries were reported.
Both fires are under investigation.
