A 47-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a stolen vehicle chase Saturday night, Winnipeg police say.
Officers say a patrol noticed a black Honda Civic with stolen license plates driven on Powers Street towards Mountian Avenue just after 11 p.m.
The officers then chased the vehicle to try and stop it; however, police say the driver drove onward, fleeing dangerously on the road.
Police continued to track the Civic towards Clearwater Road with help from Air1, eventually stopping the vehicle and nabbing the driver.
While searching the vehicle, the patrol found and seized around 2.5 grams of methamphetamine and roughly 3 grams of fentanyl.
Winnipeg police then learned the 2015 Honda Civic EX had been reported stolen on Christmas Eve, and the license plates had been reported stolen from another vehicle between Dec. 26 and 27.
Since, police have charged 47-year-old Ian Thomas Langridge with multiple charges, including flight while being pursued by a peace officer, dangerous operation of a conveyance, operation of a conveyance while prohibited, two counts of possession of a substance, and two counts of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
Police also note that at the time, Langridge had an unlawfully-at-large warrant.
