Two men arrested after a break-in at a home in Winnipeg

Two people are facing charges after a break and enter at a home in Winnipeg early Sunday morning

At approximately 1 am, police responded to a report of a break-in on the 100 block of Middle Gate.

When officers arrived, they located two men matching the descriptions of the suspects believed to have fled the residence a short distance away in the neighbourhood, and both were arrested without incident.

Police also found Items on the suspects included a sawed-off Savage Arms Rascal .22 calibre rifle without ammunition, a fixed blade knife, 5 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 2,500 dollars in Australian currency, and approximately 225 dollars in Canadian currency

A 44-year-old man from Winnipeg, is facing multiple charges including Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, break enter and theft of a dwelling, and possession of a scheduled substance

A 34-year-old man from Winnipeg, is facing charges of break enter and theft of a dwelling and failure to comply with a probation order. 

Both were detained in custody.
