Winnipeg police say a 37-year-old former teacher who had previously been charged with voyeurism, sexual assault and accessing child pornography is being charged for several new incidents.
On Tuesday, Matthew James Mousseau was charged with voyeurism, supplying liquor to a minor, possession and accessing of child pornography, indecent exposure to a minor, and luring a minor.
Police allege an ongoing investigation found evidence of sexually exploitive conversations between Mousseau and minors, as well as exploitative imagery.
Additional offences involving four survivors between ages 12 and 17 were also identified.
Three minors were students in a program that had Mousseau as their mentor, Winnipeg police are alleging, and the other minor knew him from outside of the school environment.
Between January and May of this year, police say the first incident occurred when a former student requested a ride from the accused. He allegedly picked her up and brought her back to his place, where she spent the night and he proceeded to take photos of her during her stay, police said.
The second incident happened on January 22, when another minor was invited over to his home. Police say the accused secretly recorded the minor while performing indecent acts.
Between February and March, he committed the fourth incident when a student of his turned to him for emotional support. Police say he took advantage of the minor and groomed her to ensure more time with her. Allegedly he began a sexually exploitative relationship through messages between each other.
The fifth incident happened on March 26, when the same student came over to his home again, where he provided cannabis and later sexually assaulted the minor, said police.
Between July and August, the sixth incident happened, when a former student requested a ride from him with another underage girl. He picked up both minors, purchased liquor and cannabis for them, which they consumed together, police said.
The last incident happened between September 17-19, when one of the previously mentioned minors was sexually assaulted at his home, according to police. The accused had previous charges towards this minor, police said.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
