Winnipeg man facing 14 charges after alleged break-ins

Winnipeg police says a 35-year-old man has been charged in connection to several break-ins dating back to September.

WPS says around 11:35 p.m. on Dec. 13, officers patrolling near Harbison Avenue West and Brazier Street noticed a 2013 grey Toyota Corolla that had been reported stolen on Dec. 8.

The officers began to follow the Toyota and called for assistance from Air1 and other nearby officers.

Police followed the vehicle until it stopped at Werrell Crescent and Tu-Pelo Avenue, at which point the man tried to flee on foot.

After a foot chase, police were able to take the man into custody along Ravenhill Road.

Police note that in the 25-minute vehicle pursuit, the Toyota was seen driving in a dangerous manner; however, no one was injured.

After identifying the man, police learned that he had been linked to several break-ins between September and December.
