Man charged for having air pistol on Winnipeg bus

Winnipeg police say a man has been charged after carrying an air pistol while riding a transit bus on Thursday.

Around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 5, officers responded to a report that a man on a bus had a gun.

Officers responded and were able to take the man into custody when he got off the bus along Main Street near William Avenue.

Investigators learned that the man was riding the bus when another passenger noticed the gun. They note the man did not threaten to use the gun and did not point it at anyone while riding the bus.

After the man was in custody, police were able to seize the gun, which turned out to be an air pistol.

The 34-year-old has been charged with possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
