Winnipeg police say a 16-year-old girl has been charged in connection to an assault that took place in a parking lot Saturday afternoon.
The WPS says around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the alleged assault outside a store on McPhillips Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they met with a 16-year-old, who informed them that while she was walking in the parking lot, she was confronted and had been assaulted to the point of being knocked unconscious.
The teen was taken to hospital in stable condition and treated for her injuries.
On Sunday, police located a suspect believed to be involved in the incident, and took her into custody. She has been charged with assault, and has been released on an undertaking and turned over to the care of an adult.
