45-year-old woman arrested in Winnipeg after trying to enter Millennium library with a knife

Winnipeg police were called to Millennium Library in the 200 block of Donald Street, on Saturday, at approximately 10:50 a.m., after a report of a woman trying to enter into the library armed with a knife.
The suspect first tried to enter the library with a concealed knife, she was denied entry after setting off the library checkpoint metal detector. Officers say she created a disturbance by yelling at security personnel and was directed to leave the premises. The suspect later took out the knife and began to threaten the 33- and 36-year-old security guards.
The suspect left the library and was located by police within the Graham Avenue Skywalk entrance where she was taken into custody without incident.
Officers seized a folding knife from her.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The suspect faces two charges of assault with a weapon and one charge of possession of a weapon.
