2 men stabbed at the Polo Park shopping centre in unprovoked attack, Winnipeg police say

Winnipeg police say two men in their 40s were injured in an unprovoked stabbing at the Polo Park shopping centre on Tuesday.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the victims, aged 46 and 48, were found suffering from upper body injuries around 3:50 p.m. They were taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police say a suspect was restrained by mall security personnel; police say two knives were seized.

Investigators allege the suspect approached and confronted the two victims, who were sitting on a bench in the mall, when the and he took out a knife.

After being stabbed, police say the victims managed to restrain the suspect with the help of security personnel until police arrived.

A 20-year-old man from Winnipeg has been charged with two counts of assault, possession of a weapon, and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order.
