Winnipeg truck driver killed in highway collision near Stony Mountain: RCMP

Police say a Winnipeg man was killed after the gravel truck he was driving collided with a sanding truck on Highway 7 north of Winnipeg Monday afternoon.

Stonewall RCMP say it happened just south of Stony Mountain around 3:10 p.m.

Investigators allege the sanding truck, driven by a 29-year-old man, was travelling west on Road 73 N when it entered the intersection and collided with the gravel truck, which was going south on Highway 7.

Police say the gravel truck then entered the ditch and rolled, killing its 45-year-old driver.

The driver of the sanding truck, from the RM of West St Paul, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Stonewall RCMP continue to investigate.
