Semi-truck collides with train on Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway, driver hospitalized
A semi-truck left the roadway and collided with a train on the Perimeter Highway at Fermor Avenue, resulting in the derailment of several train cars. The incident occurred at approximately 3:09 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
The 56-year-old driver of the semi was airlifted to hospital in unstable condition. He has since been upgraded to stable, though remains in serious condition.
The derailment caused significant disruption to rail service, with several train cars reported to have left the tracks.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the collision.
Winnipeg Police and emergency services remain on scene, and the Perimeter Highway has been partially closed as crews work to clear the wreckage.
