Arrest made after Winnipeg police officer was verbally threatened and physically assaulted

Winnipeg police were called to an unrelated investigation on July 27, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., when an officer was verbally threatened and subsequently bit on the arm by an adult male.
The assault happened on 600 block of Silverstone Avenue.
The male was taken into custody without further incident, said Winnipeg police.
The officer did not require medical attention as a result of the assault
Suspect Ravdeep Singh, 26 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences: assault of a peace officer and uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.
He was released on an appearance notice.
