Winnipeg Police seek public assistance to identify suspect in October machete attack

Winnipeg Police are seeking the publics assistance to identify a suspect involved in an assault that took place on October 25th.

Just after 5 o’clock in the morning, a 56-year-old male was allegedly attacked from behind by a suspect who is believed to have been armed with a machete.

The victim got life altering injuries and was treated at the hospital. Police say the victim and suspect are not known to each other.

The major crimes unit has released two photos of the offender, who has been described as approximately 5 foot 10, with a thin build and long dark hair.
