Woman in 30s seriously injured after stepping into traffic, Winnipeg police say

A woman in her 30s is suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle when she allegedly stepped off the curb into traffic on Wednesday night, according to the Winnipeg Police Service.

It happened on Portage Avenue and Tylehurst Street shortly before 10 p.m.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable condition with serious injuries, says Winnipeg police.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers, authorities say. They add no charges have been made.
