RCMP investigate homicide of infant Xavia Butler

Gypsumville RCMP are investigating the homicide of Xavia Skye Lynn Butler, whose remains were found on June 3, 2024, on a property near Highway 6 in the RM of Grahamdale. Xavia, who would have been between one and two years old at the time of her death, was discovered in a barn on the site.

Investigators last confirmed Xavia’s whereabouts about a year before her remains were located, and there were no missing person reports filed for her. The RCMP are seeking public assistance to gather information on her life during that time.

“We are looking for any photos taken of Xavia after March 2022,” said Corporal Jill Slobodzian of RCMP Major Crime Services. “We hope those photos will have date and time stamps to help us build a better timeline. We also encourage anyone who saw Xavia after that date to come forward.”
