Winnipeg man charged for abusing dog that had been reported missing

Winnipeg police have charged a 30-year-old man after a dog had been abused near the Forks Market.

WPS says officers arrived at the market on Oct. 6, after receiving multiple reports that a dog was being assaulted.

Reports indicated that witnesses had recognized the dog by recent social media posts claiming it had gone missing.

As a result, 30-year-old Batista Nikalo Sanderson of Winnipeg, has been charged with killing or injuring animals and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
