Winnipeg police have charged a 16-year-old and 17-year-old in connection to a commercial break-and-enter in September.
WPS says around 12:45 a.m. on Sept. 14, officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter along Portage Avenue near Arlington Street.
Officers went to the store and noticed it had significant damage, including a large broken window.
Through an investigation, police identified a teen as a likely suspect, and he was taken into custody at a hospital while he was seeking treatment for an injury allegedly sustained during the break-and-enter.
As the investigation continued, police learned that a second break-in occurred on Sept. 1, and the teen and another teen were identified as likely suspects.
On Oct. 3, police charged a 16-year-old with breaking and entering and three warrants. Additionally, a 17-year-old was also charged on a warrant.
It is believed the damage to the businesses is worth over $2,600, with the amount of stolen goods being worth over $1,200.
