‘Learn and reflect’: Orange Shirt Day at the Manitoba Museum
To honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Manitoba Museum is offering complimentary admission to the Museum Galleries, Science Gallery, and Planetarium until Monday.
“If you are really looking to learn and reflect on truth and reconciliation,” said Anya Moodie-Foster, Manitoba Museum, Manager of School and Public Programs.”We ask you to come down and learn more on this important part of our history.”
“But also about how you can be part of the calls to action to make it a better future for us all.”

The complimentary admission includes a new exhibit called “A Gift from the Creator” which celebrates the beauty and resilience of the Anishinaabe and Dakota peoples, and commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Southern Chiefs’ Organization.
It features objects from the 34 Nations represented by SCO as a celebration of the past, present, and future.
Orange Shirt Days at the Manitoba Museum also features special, all-day programming focused on the history of Indian Residential Schools and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.
This is to provide a time of learning and reflection offered in partnership with the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
