Fire at a Winnipeg home under investigation

Winnipeg fire crews responded to reports of a residential blaze Saturday afternoon, at a single family home in the 400 block of William Newton Avenue. 

When crews arrived on scene at 3:25 p.m., they found smoke coming from the house.

They decided to enter and fight the blaze from the inside, successfully getting the fire under control just before 5 p.m. 

Crews then completed a search of the home; no occupants were found and no injuries were reported. 

An investigation is ongoing.
