Man faces charges of drug and firearm offences: WPS

A 43-year-old man from Winnipeg faces charges of drug and firearm offences following an arrest Friday.

On Sept. 20 around 4:30 p.m., officers spoke with hotel staff working in the 300 block of Kennedy Street.

Police say staff saw a man walk by them with what appeared to be a firearm sticking out of his bag.

The man was arrested and a loaded .22 calibre rifle and ammunition was seized.  

Around $2,000 of individually wrapped quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine were also seized among other items.

The man faces charges including possession of a weapon and possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
