Man charged for stealing 15 vehicles accross Manitoba

Winnipeg police say a 38-year-old has been charged in connection to numerous vehicle thefts across Manitoba over the last few months.
WPS says on Sept. 7, officers patrolling along Tecumseh Street, noticed a pickup truck parked in an enclosed compound, and requested a search warrant for the property.
Police executed a search warrant for the property and were able to seize a 2006 Ford F350 — the truck that was originally noticed by the patrol officers.
In addition, police were able to seize 14 other vehicles as well as several other items, all of which are listed below.

- 2024 Kawasaki EX500 (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, between July 14-15, 2023)
- 2005 tow truck (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, on July 21, 2024)
- 1982 Harley Davidson (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, on August 3, 2024)
- 2012 Yamaha Grizzly (Stolen from Fisher Branch, MB, on August 19, 2024)
- 2008 Ford F150 (Stolen from Fisher Branch, MB, on August 20, 2024)
- 1997 Jeep TJ (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, on August 23, 2024)
- 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 (Stolen from Winnipeg, MB, between August 23-25, 2024)

WPS says the estimated value of all the stolen property is around $300,000.
An additional investigation found that the compound was being rented by a man, and the owner was unaware of the activity within.
Police say on Sept. 15, 38-year-old Vincent John Jose Oliveira was taken into custody by Stonewall RCMP.
Oliveira has since been charged with 28 charges including possession of property obtained by a crime over and under $5,000, possession of credit card, and possession of an identity document.
Police believe that Oliveira did not act alone, and additional arrests are expected.
WPS also notes that all the stolen property has been returned to their rightful owners.
