Winnipeg police say a 21-year-old man has been charged for having a gun and illicit drugs after being pulled over for erratic driving.

WPS says around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers noticed a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox driving erratically along Isabel Street.

Following this, officers conducted a traffic stop and learned the man driving did not have a valid license.

Officers then took the man into custody and conducted a search, at which point they found a loaded, 9mm handgun concealed in the man’s waistband.

Six grams of cocaine were also reportedly found by the officers, as well as Percocet, and $1,600 in cash.

In a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers found “several hundred rounds of various ammunition as well as a number of edged weapons.”

Since, police have charged a 21-year-old with nine drug and gun-related charges.
