1 killed, 3 in hospital after being hit by truck Winnipeg’s Westwood

Winnipeg police says a pedestrian has been killed and three others are in hospital after being hit by a truck Friday morning.

WPS says officers and paramedics responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision around 7:39 a.m. near Portage Avenue and Bedson Street.

Paramedics treated one person at the scene and confirmed they died from their injuries. Three others were also treated and taken to a hospital and have been confirmed as being stable.

Through initial stages of their investigation, police believe a Ford F150 was heading east on Portage Avenue when it hit a pedestrian and a bus shelter.

A secondary vehicle, hydro pole, and gas station were also damaged during the incident.
