Winnipeg police hoping to identify woman who died in August

Winnipeg police are turning to the public in the hopes of identifying a woman who died on August 10.

WPS says on that day, officers were involved in an incident involving a deceased woman along Main Street, however didn’t go into further detail regarding the incident.

Since then, officers and investigators in the missing persons unit have tried to identify the woman, but have been unsuccessful.

Police have described the woman as being in her 20s or 30s, roughly 5’5″ and a thin build. She has short dark hair, brown eyes, a mole above her left eye, and her eyebrows were coloured in black.

At the time, she was wearing a grey ‘Bench’ hoodie, black pants with a bright yellow stripe down the side, black socks, and black runners. She also had a large tan coloured handbag and a blue ‘ROOTS’ suitcase with her.

Police have also made a composite sketch to help in the efforts to identify the woman.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6250 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
