Teen in critical condition after being stabbed at high school in eastern Manitoba

Manitoba RCMP says a 16-year-old is in critical condition after being stabbed at a high school in Cross Lake.

Mounties say around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, they received a report of a possible stabbing on the high school grounds located on Saggitawak Road.

RCMP and Paramedics attended the scene and found a 16-year-old suffering from significant life-altering injuries.

Speaking to witnesses, police learned that a group of teens were on the school grounds when another group of men appeared. Reports indicate that a fight ensued and one teen was severely injured.

After being taken to the Cross Lake Nursing Station, the teen was air-lifted to Winnipeg, where he had an emergency surgery, and remains in critical condition.
