Collision leads to cocaine seizure in northern Manitoba: RCMP

The Manitoba RCMP says three people from Winnipeg are in custody after a collision led to a seizure of cocaine in Cross Lake.

Around 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 21, Mounties responded to a report of a crash on Sipiseek Road in the community.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found three people inside the vehicle and noticed an open bottle of liquor.

Mounties say the 38-year-old driver then provided a false name, and was taken into custody for impared driving.

As officers were speaking to the other two men in the vehicle, one reportedly pushed an officer before trying to grab her radio and attempting to disarm her.

As a result, both men were also placed in police custody.

Police say a subsequent search of the vehicle led RCMP officers to 56 grams of cocaine, over $13,000 in cash, and other drug-related items.

The RCMP has not said if the three men are facing charges at this time.
